Dr. Carmelinda Longo Ph.D., C.Psych

Founder and Director 

Dr. Longo is a clinical neuropsychologist who is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.  She is also a member of the Ontario Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

Dr. Longo has over 15 years of experience conducting comprehensive psychoeducational, neuropsychological, and developmental assessments with children, adolescents, and adults.  She is committed to helping clients better understand their learning/cognitive strengths and challenges and obtain the necessary supports they need to succeed at school or work. Dr. Longo also provides psychotherapy for anxiety, and mood disorders, in addition to concussion management using a primarily cognitive-behavioural (CBT) approach.  Dr. Longo provides compassionate care tailored to each individual's unique needs.

Dr. Carmelinda Longo

Dr. Longo completed her Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology at the University of Ottawa and spent two years completing a clinical neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship at Community Head Injury Resource Services, where she worked primarily with adults with moderate to severe traumatic brain injury conducting neuropsychological and medical-legal assessments. Her pre-doctoral internship was completed at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) where she specialized in pediatric neuropsychology. She also completed clinical training at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Children’s Aid Society, Elizabeth-Bruyere Hospital, and Lesley Miller and Associates. In addition to starting her own practice, Dr. Longo completes comprehensive neuropsychological assessments on children from Bermuda through SickKids’ International Patient Program.

Dr. Anna Lisa Jóhannsdóttir Psy.D

Clinical Consultant

Dr. Anna Lisa has a wealth of clinical experience ranging from her master’s level training at Teachers College, Columbia University (New York) to her doctoral program at the California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco, where she obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2017.

 

Throughout her training, Dr. Anna Lísa has had the opportunity to work in multiple clinical settings in New York City, across the San Francisco Bay Area, and most recently the GTA. She has supported and advocated for children, youth, adults, and families from multi-level stressed communities for over 10 years by providing culturally sensitive, trauma-focused therapeutic services in home, community clinic, university, and school-based settings.

Dr. Anna Lisa Johannsdottir

 

Dr. Anna Lísa is passionate about and has focused her work on supporting children and youth who are struggling to connect with and understand their experiences of both intergenerational and complex trauma, systemic oppression, anxiety, and depression.  In addition, from the start of her doctoral training in 2012, Anna Lísa has also focused on collaborative psychological assessment and psychoeducational assessments where she strives to work together with the child, caregivers, and/or school staff to provide answers to the questions they may have to identify the child’s strengths and challenges.

Janay King M.A.

Registered Psychotherapist 

Janay King is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) and a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.  She holds a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology.

​

As a trauma informed therapist, she works primarily from an integrative model with training in EMDR, Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. Janay's Treatment Approach is rooted in collaboration, compassion, trust and empathy.  She integrates evidenced-based techniques and equips clients with tools to overcome their challenges. Janay creates a supportive and nonjudgmental space, empowering her clients to explore even their most difficult struggles.  She helps clients develop a deep understanding of themselves as well as the difficulties they are facing and encourages active participation in their therapeutic journey.
