Shabnam Paiwand

Clinical and School Psychologist
Shabnam Paiwand is a clinical and school psychologist who is registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. With extensive experience in both clinical and educational settings, she specializes in providing comprehensive psychoeducational assessments and interventions for children and adolescents. She is dedicated to helping families understand the factors influencing their children’s and adolescents’ learning and school performance, and to developing manageable and realistic plans to support their learning both at school and at home. Shabnam also offers psychotherapy services for children and adolescents facing various mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She fosters a safe, non-judgmental environment and connects with her clients in a genuine, relaxed, and approachable manner.
Her experience working within the school board setting equips Shabnam with the system knowledge and expertise to assist families in understanding and navigating special education services. She collaborates with schools to achieve the best outcomes for children and adolescents.
Shabnam graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours, B.Sc., majoring in Psychology. She also earned her Master of Education with a focus on School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Counselling Psychology, specializing in the School Psychology field, at the University of Toronto.
